Salvador Dali and his amazing melting clocks

Salvador Dali was truly ahead of his time and instantly recognisable face and artwork…
it’s no surprise that he is one of the most iconic artists of all time. To some, he is one of the greatest of all time, to others mentally disturbed and to others a fake, charlatan and a liar who reached fame and success by creating a false persona. Whatever your view on Salvador Dali there is no denying that his artwork goes down in history as some of the most influential, iconic and inspiring artwork of all time.

Creative or lunatic, Certainty or got lucky, Master manipulator or mentally disturbed or all of these words can be used to describe Salvador Dali.

Personally I have my own and its this… Genius…
I first encountered Salvador Dali’s work when studying for a BD in theology. His painting of St John Of the cross which hangs in the Kelvingrove museum in Glasgow is nothing short of amazing. The love, life, and story that this painting tells is nothing short of awe-inspiring. However, because of one simple addition that Dali failed to add it was
Universally shunned by many churches across the world…

The detail that he hid away was the detail of the nails which held Jesus on the cross. Many interpret this as I do as Jesus being help upon the cross with love. Love for a dying and fallen world.
This painting is so special as it was painted by a man who at one time lothed Jesus, faith and the church and eventually would come full circle back to his faith.

Salvador Dali was born on May 11, 1904, in Catalonia in Spain.

Learn about the man behind the canvas, get a glimpse into his mind and learn to create your very own Dali masterpiece with this brand new teaching.
